The story begins with Ant-Man responding to an unusual call for help. A group of Kosmosians, aliens from the planet Kosmos, manage to shrink themselves to Earth-size and seek out Ant-Man. They explain that their world has been taken over by the tyrannical warlord Kulla, and they have come to Earth to seek Ant-Man’s help in overthrowing him.
Ant-Man agrees to help and devises a plan to travel to Kosmos by shrinking himself down to subatomic size. Upon arriving on the distant planet, Ant-Man is immediately met with resistance from Kulla’s forces. Kulla, a brutal and oppressive ruler, has enslaved the people of Kosmos and built up a vast military presence to maintain his rule.
Using his size-changing abilities and his power to control ants, Ant-Man begins sabotaging Kulla's strongholds and freeing captured Kosmosians. Despite his small size, Ant-Man proves to be a formidable opponent, outwitting Kulla’s soldiers at every turn.
In the climactic battle, Ant-Man confronts Kulla himself. The tyrant is overconfident, believing his size and military might will easily crush the Earth hero. However, Ant-Man uses his intellect and ingenuity to outmaneuver Kulla, turning his own technology against him. With Kulla’s defeat, the Kosmosians are freed from his tyranny.
Tales to Astonish #42: The Voice of Doom! (1959)

Tales to Astonish #42, published in April 1963, is a comic book issue written by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber, with artwork by Don Heck. This issue features Ant-Man facing off against Jason Cragg, also known as "The Man with the Voice of Doom," who possesses a hypnotic voice that can compel anyone to do his bidding.
Plot Summary:
The story begins with Jason Cragg, a former radio announcer who gains his hypnotic powers after an accident involving radioactive energy while on the air. Realizing the immense power of his voice, Cragg sets out to control others and soon becomes a dangerous force in the city. He commands people to do his bidding, making himself rich and powerful.
Cragg's ambition grows, and he turns his attention to eliminating Ant-Man, seeing him as the only obstacle to his total dominance. Using his hypnotic voice, Cragg convinces the public that Ant-Man is a criminal, turning the city against the hero. People begin refusing to help Ant-Man, and soon, even law enforcement is under Cragg’s control.
Despite being outnumbered and facing public animosity, Ant-Man manages to escape Cragg’s grasp and begins plotting a way to defeat him. He realizes that the key to overcoming Cragg is to avoid hearing his voice directly. Using his scientific expertise, Pym creates a device that will block out Cragg’s voice waves.
In a climactic battle, Ant-Man confronts Cragg in front of his brainwashed followers. With his protective device in place, Ant-Man is immune to Cragg's voice and able to fight back. Cragg grows desperate, trying to use his voice on everyone around him, but his efforts fail. Ant-Man manages to outwit him, exposing his manipulative schemes and freeing the city from his control.
As Cragg is taken into custody, his powers nullified, the city begins to realize they had been under his influence. Ant-Man is once again hailed as a hero, and Cragg is left powerless without his voice, imprisoned and defeated.
